Mr TOAD

Based on the characters from
The Wind in the Willows

The world has held great Heroes,
As history-books have showed;
But never a name to go down to fame
Compared with that of Toad!

Mr. Toadtakes the spotlight in an explosive new respawn of Wind in the Willows. Tonight, Toad invites you to view his grand new show ‘Mr. Toad’, supported by his ragtagbunch of performers; a begrudging Ratty, Badger and Mole. But as the story deepens, the wheels start to come off… With Toad Hall under threat from the sly Vin Weasel, Toad’s insatiable need for speed could land him in serious trouble! Toad must discover what being a hero truly means.

Based on the characters from Kenneth Graham’s Wind in the Willows, Mr Toad is a story of friendship, self-discovery, overcoming adversity and, of course, a need for speed!

Wise Owl Theatre bring Toad, Badger, Ratty, Mole, and all the other riverbank characters to life with funny songs, witty jokes, and beautiful puppetry from Matthew Forbes, Associate Puppetry Director of the National Theatre’s award-winning production of War Horse.

A show filled with love, laughter and heart-warming lessons in friendship, Mr Toad is the perfect family treat.

"I had the pleasure of working alongside Wise Owl at Vintage Trains 2022 Polar Express Train Ride Event.  Both Chris and Chloe were exceptionally easy to work with. The level of professionalism, passion, and attention to detail they delivered to the event was the reason it was such a success. I would recommend this team to anyone who is looking for a production company that will be responsive, respectful, and deliver a top-notch product."

"Wise Owl Theatre Company is without doubt one of the most exciting companies to emerge in recent years from the regional theatre scene. Their innovate and imaginative staging of both classic and new text will see them as a force to be reckoned with for many years to come."

Kevin Parker

"The quality of the work Wise Owl present has always been excellent and their ability to make the stories we know, and love come to life on stage with music and puppets has delighted our audiences. Their dedication and hard work are clearly aligned to bringing theatre to as many people as possible. I look forward to working closely with them in years to come and watching how the company develops and expands their work in the future."
